Hey guys!
I posted the first few pages of The Unconquered Sun, a story I've been developing for years and years. I recently got two of my long-time friends involved, and they've been helping to keep the project moving forward, and making me fix the bad stuff and enhance the good. I want to release this as I develop it, so I've started by posting the first five pages (tho two are credit and chapter breaks so really it's only 3 pages).
I have done roughs for the next five pages and I'll be rendering those out soon.
It's all done on the iPad which is a great tool for creating art (despite what everyone said about it only being about consuming stuff). I do some work on my Android Galaxy Tab too when I can (it doesn't have most of the apps I need yet, but it does have Sketchbook Pro which is the core of my workflow).
I plan to release the entire graphic novel online... and hopefully people will like it, and maybe it'll go somewhere after... so stay tuned!
Also I created a gallery where I can upload some of my concept art for this project. I recently discovered a ZBrush/Mudbox-like iPad app called 123d which uses intuitive touch control and a small but powerful set of tools to let you do clay-sculpture-like work on your iPad. I've never been adept at 3D stuff so when I saw the results, I was pretty floored. I'm planning to use it to design character heads for my stories, which I can then use as part of my workflow to ensure that each character looks consistent throughout the series. It's awesome.
Speaking of stories, we're THIS close to getting the other project, The Lifecode Missions, in Apples book store... as soon as Peter tells me it's up, I'll post the entire first part here. We've finished about 36 pages, which constitutes part 1 of mission 1, and introduces the story of Lifecode... Peter wrote it and I did the art, and Prasad helped with the editing. I'm pretty happy with the results. If you like sci-fi, stay tuned for that!
Hope everyone is doing awesome!
